Workshop: Everyday Democracy with Dr Sophie Scott-Brown & Pippa Evans
Saturday July 13th, 9.15am-5pm
Democracy is the art of dealing with difference - but how often have you been stuck in a meeting, an argument, a class, a workplace where everyone just wants their way and no one is listening?
Join us for a free, day-long workshop which will explore how to transform conflict into social creativity. Chaired by historian and philosopher of radical democratic practice, Sophie Scott-Brown, with improvisation artist Pippa Evans, and support from Open Society Foundations, this exciting, one-off session will provide you with a suite of techniques to build your confidence in unlocking collective energies.
Attendance is free for all participants with vegan food and drinks provided. Support for travel expenses also available.
If you would like to attend, please email events@Kairos.London to express interest, including a short (couple of lines) description of your experience of conflict in groups. This could include with friends or family or in professional, activist, or community settings. This will help inform the workshop and contribute to a larger research project, being led by Sophie, into grassroots and community democracy. (All information shared will be kept strictly confidential, but please nonetheless anonymous your accounts.)
